Among Impostors takes the .io growth formula and makes your size literal: you are not one impostor but a group of them, and food collected around the map turns into more. A bigger crowd is your score, your strength and the thing everyone else in the lobby wants to take off you.

Being outnumbered is the danger, and the game is explicit about it — players with more impostors than you will steal yours, so avoiding a larger group is a survival decision rather than cowardice. That flips the usual .io calculation: growing gives you the option to attack, but it also makes you the target everyone else can see coming.

Three bonuses are worth fighting for. The protection shield blocks other players, speed shoes let you run fast, and the impostor bonus increases your numbers directly.
